Episode 23 - Fried Pickles

A whirlwind weekend of fun and some knitting life lessons! Still nothing brand new to show, a lot of the same old stuff. Another trip to the frog pond for a few things and gearing up for a big life schedule change as school season is approaching!

Episode 22 - Hey! No Interruptions

Sunset over Grand Traverse Bay

An exhausting weekend so please forgive me for the loopiness and in general all-over-the-place-ness! Spent a fast paced weekend helping my friend shoot a wedding.  It was a gorgeous day in one of Michigan's best places. I just wish it would of been a vacation instead! I need to plan a trip there again soon with the family.

Managed some finished objects this week and still plugging along on the same old WIPs.  I'll update the show notes when I get a chance, but will most the ones that I can just copy and past for now.

Episode 21 - Fiber Fest Fun!

Bunnies at the County Fair

Ah, a nice relaxing and super fun and fiber filled weekend! We had a great little mini-vacation at the in-laws new house in the country! Nice, quiet, relaxing.  A visit to the county fair and a fun excursion to Michigan Fiber Fest.  Although I didn't finish as many crafty things as I had hoped, I did a fair amount of crafting and scored a few nice stash enhancements! Oh and I totally want to buy a bunny, or a sheep....or maybe a goat.

Episode 17 - To the Frog Pond

Can you hear the the frogs? Rippit Rippit.  Not particularly a craft fail, but just wasn't going to be what I wanted it to be!

Oh what a week.  Just hectic, stressful and somewhat painful.  Took away a bit of crafting time, but still managed to cast on some new projects, get some lovely spinning done and a bit of fiber dyeing! I really need to look into getting some acid dyes.  I am loving the hand dyeing, and really want to get my hands on some more deep and exciting colors.

Grab a beverage and let's chat!

Episode 15 - I am the Cat Queen

At the Movies!

Welcome back! What a lovely holiday weekend we had.  We went the the movies, spent a lot of time outside playing, and did a little swimming as well.  Great weather spent with our family, really couldn't ask for much more.

I'm a bit tired and covered in bug bites, but all in all it was worth it.  Hope everyone had a good weekend too!

This week we delve into some deep topics, and a bit of sadness, but only for a moment.  A reflection on the loss of Wink from A Creative Being.  I will be devoting another whole post on this later in the week as well as part of a whole project which I discuss for a moment.

We have FOs, some fiber stash enhancement that is a lot of fun and some video game geekiness for a moment.

Mini-Episode 5 - Washing Raw Fleece

Hello! Welcome to another mini episode! I received a pound of raw Blue Faced Leicester (BFL) this week and went straight to work to washing it! It was smelly and dirty and magnificent!

I ordered this fleece from a fellow Michigander on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/goathillranch. She is currently not listing anything, but if you are interested in a high quality, already sorted and skirted fleece - I would favorite this shop.  Highly recommended! Great communication as well.

It took me two days - I was a bit nervous after the first wash and immediately emailed Kristy for help. All was good thankfully and it did require a second washing.

Finished up with a vinegar soak and a conditioner soak.  It's a tad on the longer side - clocking in at 25 minutes, but hopefully it will be somewhat informative to those who are delving into the fleece washing territory like I am!

Special guest Devo! He makes a lot of appearances throughout, that silly boy!

Hope everyone has a great and fun filled holiday here in the States! Happy belated Canada Day to my friends up north!

See you on Monday for our regularly scheduled program.

Episode 10 - Everyone needs a do-over sometimes

Take two!  I recorded this morning and then while on my way to Joann to get even more things crafty, I not only thought about things I forgot to mention, but figured I was getting more things to share and just didn't really like how all over the place it went.

Well take two was better, but I was still spacey and still had interruptions from the kids - but hey what else is new right?!

So here I am spacey-wacey and cold as heck! Had a busy weekend full of wedded bliss - both helping out in photographing one and then attending one! I have a number of FOs and a never ending list of WIPs. There will be sweaters, socks and a few stash enhancements to boot.

Episode 8 - Oh Pikachu

Happy Monday! It has been a not so hot week here coming down with a nasty cold.  Runny nose, scratchy throat.  Hooray...

Before the yuckiness hit however, I got to spend a fun family day with my hubby and kiddos at the Detroit Zoo! We all went together with the kids Preschool.  It was a chilly day (I wore a sweater).  I mean really?? A sweater in May??  It was ridiculous. But we all had fun.  Emily was most excited about the Zebras and David really liked the Penguins.  My favorite was the Butterfly House. The Giraffe's were totally about to "get it on" but Lady Giraffe was not really in the mood.  It was quite a sight to see!

We followed it up with an ice cream cone from McDonald's on the way home.

Watching the butterflies

Butterflies are my favorite!

So pretty!

They look like they are smiling

Gotta get a picture by the bear fountain

Rawr!

Emily was excited about the Zebras

Um...it was totally mating season...

And she wasn't really in the mood. Haha!

This weekend was another birthday party! This time at Chuck E. Cheese.  It was actually my first time there and it wasn't too bad.  Last time the kids went, hubby took them by himself for another birthday party. He said it was mass chaos. Luckily it wasn't overrun this time.  Kids played a lot of little games and cashed in their tickets for a bag of junk, haha. Got to leave with a balloon - a successful day!

Lots of crafts, not enough time! Finished Objects, and lots of Works In Progress. Plarn, Yarn Dying, Mitered Squares and more! The most exciting of the FO's is my shawl! Behold the Sunlight Shawl for Sad People by Sylvia Bo Bilvia on Ravelry!

Fun with Selfie's
