Can you hear the the frogs? Rippit Rippit. Not particularly a craft fail, but just wasn't going to be what I wanted it to be!
Oh what a week. Just hectic, stressful and somewhat painful. Took away a bit of crafting time, but still managed to cast on some new projects, get some lovely spinning done and a bit of fiber dyeing! I really need to look into getting some acid dyes. I am loving the hand dyeing, and really want to get my hands on some more deep and exciting colors.
A little all over the place this episode. That's what happens when I'm pressed for time and decide to skip the planning and notes. That's okay, you'll forgive me right?
Lots of stuff to share though - knitting, sewing and spinning finished objects! I'm rather surprised I got so much done honestly! The kids schedule is digging in on my craft time darn it!
Lots of other news too! A couple giveaways coming up, including a free copy of the "Grimes" shawl by Megan Sanders! I was so happy to test knit this for her and honored she offered up a copy to give to my lovely viewers. Check out the thread in our Ravelry group for more info. In the meantime, if you just can't wait and want to knit it now - she is currently offering it 50% off until July 15th!
Quite a bit of show notes, so please check them out below! Lots of great patterns and people to share.
Welcome back! What a lovely holiday weekend we had. We went the the movies, spent a lot of time outside playing, and did a little swimming as well. Great weather spent with our family, really couldn't ask for much more.
I'm a bit tired and covered in bug bites, but all in all it was worth it. Hope everyone had a good weekend too!
This week we delve into some deep topics, and a bit of sadness, but only for a moment. A reflection on the loss of Wink from A Creative Being. I will be devoting another whole post on this later in the week as well as part of a whole project which I discuss for a moment.
We have FOs, some fiber stash enhancement that is a lot of fun and some video game geekiness for a moment.
Hello! Welcome to another mini episode! I received a pound of raw Blue Faced Leicester (BFL) this week and went straight to work to washing it! It was smelly and dirty and magnificent!
I ordered this fleece from a fellow Michigander on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/goathillranch. She is currently not listing anything, but if you are interested in a high quality, already sorted and skirted fleece - I would favorite this shop. Highly recommended! Great communication as well.
It took me two days - I was a bit nervous after the first wash and immediately emailed Kristy for help. All was good thankfully and it did require a second washing.
Finished up with a vinegar soak and a conditioner soak. It's a tad on the longer side - clocking in at 25 minutes, but hopefully it will be somewhat informative to those who are delving into the fleece washing territory like I am!
Special guest Devo! He makes a lot of appearances throughout, that silly boy!
Hope everyone has a great and fun filled holiday here in the States! Happy belated Canada Day to my friends up north!
See you on Monday for our regularly scheduled program.
